The 'Rose' business is under the ownership of Ben Johnson, who was brought up in Great Waltham. At the 'Rose' we take pride in being a genuinely independent local pub. We offer a warm, friendly welcome, traditional ales including the local 'Bishop Nick' beers, a real log fire in the winter and a varied menu with traditional country products, fresh seafood, Italian specials, plus our expanding vegetarian and vegan options...
We have our new pizza and bread oven up and running, to complement our external bar-b-q. There is now a takeaway pizza menu, to add to our takeaway breakfast menu, plus on Sundays, our popular roasts (after 4.00pm). This autumn, we are also installing a more environmentally friendly cellar cooling unit.
This will add to all the improvements we've made - a major re-fit of the kitchen, re-tiling of the roof, tarmac car park, lighting, and fencing, outside decking and seating overlooking the stream, new ladies and gents facilities, seating and upholstery, carpets and flooring, radiators, window blinds, air conditioning in the restaurant, a re-furbished dining area in the Snug, plus conversion of the former office extension into a further, more private, dining area (with a dart board!). With our pub signs and outside lighting as well, we're easy to find in Chelmsford Road, Great Waltham.
